Date: Sunday, September 25, 2016       Teacher: Darrell Spencer     Duration: 36 mins 56 secs
Description: We always ask "why" when something bad happens in our lives. As Christians, we usually ask God "why?" But we have to simply acknowledge that God is sovereign, and we pray. We know that God is in control of everything; He is not random. Expect the unexpected. We, as Christians, are not immune to trouble. We should respond with heartfelt, passionate prayer. Listen to hear more.

Passage: Philippians 4
Description: What is "IT" that Paul talks about in verses 8-9? The way he lived, what he taught, the way he reflected Christ, we should imitate these and put them into practice. Listen for six points that we can act on to reflect Jesus in our own lives. Just like in Ch 1, we again see "rejoice in the Lord." Listen to hear about receiving the peace of God. So how will you put verse 9 into practice?

Passage: Philippians 3
Description: Continuing in Philippians Ch 4, again we read "rejoice in the Lord". We see Paul try to get us to see the world through God's eyes. He says watch out for those who add lots of outwardly (external) things to express their faith, instead of inwardly true things. There is nothing we can or should do to add to our salvation. Jesus is sufficient. Even more, Paul says all of his vast accomplishments is worthless when compared to knowing the Lord Jesus Christ. So does knowing Jesus in a real and personal way surpass everything you have in this world? Listen to hear how Paul pressed on toward the goal to win the prize... Are you standing still in your walk with Jesus?

Passage: Philippians 2
Description: Continuing in Ch 2, Paul talks about imitating Jesus, and we can do that with the power of the Holy Spirit. We can be comforted by God's love, and also we should comfort others. You can be joyful in helping others find joy. How could we ever be self centered when we consider all that the Lord Jesus Christ has done for us. Be a Light in this spiritually dark world. Listen for the answers to - Joy in Christ means....

Passage: Philippians 1
Description: Darrell begins a four part series from the book of Philippians. We see how Paul writes this letter while in prison and chained to a guard, but full of joy. Imagine that. If you are going through some tough times, then keep listening to this series. We see how specific Paul's prayers were, which is a good pattern for us; and we see the power of the Holy Spirit in him. Listen for the answers - Joyful living in Christ realizes that.....

Date: Sunday, July 31, 2016       Teacher: Darrell Spencer     Duration: 35 mins 6 secs
Passage: Philippians 3:8
Description: What is the one thing that you would like to have? Paul tells us that he knew the one thing that mattered to him was knowing Jesus Christ. Paul saw then, as a saved man, that his previous prestigious life was worthless when compared to knowing Jesus. He shows us how insignificant the things we usually value today are when compared to having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Passage: Matthew 25:1-13
Description: Today Darrell talks about how Jesus asks His disciples if they are ready for what is to come. He uses the parable of the ten virgins to be ready. Some were, some were not. Do you think this parable is relevant for us today? Are you ready? What about when Jesus returns? You certainly don't want to be told "Truly I tell you, I don't know you."
