Passage: Luke 6:17-26
Description: We see in this familiar passage Jesus talking about the upside down kingdom that He wanted to reverse. Have you ever looked in the mirror and see a Pharisee? We see things now in the upside down kingdom, but in the new kingdom we will see the opposite - like the poor being rich and weak being strong. It shouldn't be all about "you" but rather about The Kingdom. Have you ever said "God, aren't you glad you have me"? This is not being poor in spirit, as scripture says we should be. The Cross is the great reversal of the world's system. Jesus came to save us, not to punish us. This is so you can turn around and share the good news with others. From these passages today, what category do you fit in?

Passage: Daniel 1:3-16 & Daniel 2:14-23
Description: Today we hear how Daniel choose to resist the pagan king who had besieged Judah. Daniel stood by his godly convictions so that his life would not become corrupted. And we see how God blessed him and intervened to save Daniel. Listen to hear how far Daniel would go to bring glory to God. Where in your life can you begin to live for The Lord? If our convictions are not based upon God's Word, they will not support us in the tests of life.

Passage: Philippians 3:15-21
Description: Listen for ten questions to test if any activity is biblical or not. If we follow and obey God, it strengthens our morality. We must avoid developing close, intimate personal relationships with unbelievers except with the purpose of evangelism. We have an Example to follow, and Enemy to avoid, and an Eternity in view.

Passage: Job & Romans 8:6
Description: Today we look at the difficult subject of suffering. Job's inexplicable suffering prompted him to seek answers, but he never charged God foolishly. The tendency to hear what you want to hear is a childish trait. Sometimes our suffering is explainable, but other times it cannot be explained. You can ask God what's going on but never question His integrity. God is true, just, and He has a perspective that we don't have. Know that our Lord is good, as we see Job did. Don't waste your sorrows! When you can't explain your suffering, avoid the trap of questioning God's intentions.

Passage: Galatians 3:2 & Romans 7:9-8:27
Description: We are saved by grace through faith, but how do we grow? Have you fallen into the old way of thinking that you have to live righteously by your own strength? Salvation begins with grace and ends with grace. Keep bringing the issues of life to God because of who He is and what He has done, and not on the basis of who you are or what you have done. Listen for five points that the Spirit does for us.

Passage: Hebrews 13:12-13 & Romans 6:4
Description: Both ordinances given by Christ depict our participation in the gospel - the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. There must be a letting-go before we can embrace the good things from God. You have not begun your walk with Christ unless there has been a "death" - a death to your pride. You have to admit you need to be saved. It is a dying so that we may be resurrected. Listen to find out that we die daily to _______. He calls us to die so that we may live for something better!

Passage: John 8:31-36
Description: The way we find the truth about God is let Him tell us, and we find that in the Bible. He says The Word of God is truth. If you don't believe the scriptures, that is the same as you saying you know more than The Lord. But He says if you continue in my Word you are my disciple. And He says learn from me. Listen to hear that true freedom is the ability to ____. If The Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
Date: Sunday, January 29, 2017       Teacher: Rev. John Hebert     Duration: 34 mins 9 secs
Passage: Acts 3:11-16
Description: The body of Christ is amazing. In the early days of the church, people were drawn to it because of this. This morning we hear about Peter telling us how the power of Jesus Christ heals a man in front of many people. We should see this power regularly in the changed lives of the people of the church. We should also expect God to be there and see something significant happen in our lives and the lives of others. There is just something about being in the presence of The Lord. Do you know someone who has chosen someone (or something) else to be their lord?

Passage: 2 Corinthians 4:7-11
Description: Our weakness contains the strength of The Lord. We are only special because of Jesus Christ. God has chosen to put the powerful knowledge of Jesus Christ in weak vessels like us. This is so all the glory will be His. Did you know that God prevails in all difficulties we go through, external and even internal, like stress and worry. God never forsakes His children.

Passage: Deuteronomy 6:23
Description: Throughout history, people have dreamed of being free. God has already dreamed that dream for us! He brought us out to bring u in. Everyone of us has sin that we can't say no to in our own strength. But Jesus is a friend of sinners. In Him we are free from the bondage of sin. Listen for where He is bringing you "in", and for what to do when you feel like you are going in circles
