Missions is the heartbeat of First Baptist Church. We support missions through our prayers, missions education (Women/Men on Missions, G.A.s, R.A.'s and Mission Friends), giving through the Cooperative Program and mission offerings and personal involvement.
FBCLC members are involved in a number of missions partnerships including Ford Street Baptist Mission, Grace Ministries, Faith, Family & Friends Food Pantry, ABC Pregnancy Resource Center, Friendships, and Habitat for Humanity.
Our members are also personally involved in national and international missions through long-term partnerships and short-term mission trips. Over the past several years teams and individuals from FBCLC have traveled to New Orleans, Germany, Fort Worth, Urkaine, Honduras, Colorado, Brazil, Peru, Columbia and Angola State Prison.
During Hurricances Katrinia, Rita and Gustav, teams from our church helped feed evacuees, distribute clothing, cleaned up debris and provided lodging and meals for hundreds of SBC Disaster Relief volunteers. During Hurricane Rita, SBC Disaster Relief teams housed at FBCLC and teams from our church assisted over 600 families with debris removal, tarps and general cleanup.
