Youth Bible Drill

Youth Bible Drill (YBD) is a program sponsored by the Evangelism/Church Growth Team of the Louisiana Baptist Convention. YBD helps youth in seventh through grade learn about the Bible, learn from the Bible, and learn to use the Bible. Specifically, youth participating in YBD each year memorize 10 Bible verses and  references, the titles and references of 10 key (or important) doctrinal statements, 10 Bible questions and answers, and the books of the Old and New Testaments in order.

Purpose

Youth Bible Drill is designed to assist youth in developing useful skills and knowledge of the Bible, as well as poise and self-confidence. By participating in the drills, youth will learn to find books of the Bible, locate scripture references, identify selected verses from given clues, and use scripture references to document basic beliefs and ethical convictions.

"The most important goal of Youth Bible Drill is to learn to use the Book of Life to make a difference for today and tomorrow." Linda McNeill

Working together to prepare for the drill, teenagers increase their love for the Bible; ts words and phrases become a part of them. Youth also gain poise and self-confidence as they respond to drill calls with speed and accuracy.
